Factors affecting the livelihood diversification of Vietnam households

Sustainable livelihood is not only the objective but also households’ expectations. Livelihood diversification aimed at ensuring farmer's resilience to shocks and improving sustainability. Research on in rural areas contributes development of agricultural policies, social security policies for all farm households Vietnam. The authors applied statistic regression methods analyze VARHS’s database which surveyed 12 provinces Vietnam over years. This paper carried out evaluate factors affecting probability choosing diversify livelihoods Vietnamese farmers by developing a index (SID) SID’s determinants based DFID framework. results show that decision influenced many factors, including age, planted areas, asset value, saving money. Since then, propose some implications promoting farmers.
